The short answer: 4–6 weeks from approved design to finished install. That’s our standard timeline at Foundry, and it’s faster than most people expect from custom. Here’s where the time actually goes.
Week 1: Design and engineering
We measure your space, draw the design, and revise it with you until it’s right. Then every cabinet gets engineered part by part — dimensions, hardware locations, cut lists. This is the most important week of the whole project, and rushing it is how mistakes happen.
Weeks 2–3: Fabrication
Parts are cut on our CNC router, edges banded, boxes assembled. Because everything’s cut to exact dimensions from the engineering, this phase is fast and predictable — no waiting on outsourced parts.
Week 3–4: Finishing
Doors, drawer fronts, and finished panels get sprayed in-house. In-house finishing is a big reason our timeline is short: we’re not waiting in another shop’s queue.
Weeks 4–6: Installation
Our own crew installs — scribing to your walls, leveling, hanging doors, adjusting every hinge and slide. Most kitchens install in a few days; the calendar time is mostly scheduling, not labor.
Why some shops quote 10–14 weeks
Three reasons: they outsource fabrication, they outsource finishing, or they’re booked out. All three add weeks of waiting that have nothing to do with your project. When one shop does everything under one roof, the timeline compresses.
How to keep your project on schedule
- Decide on the design promptly. Revisions are normal, but each round adds days.
- Pick finishes early. Custom color matches take time to dial in.
- Clear the space. We can’t install around your old kitchen.
The short version
4–6 weeks, start to finish, when design, fabrication, finishing, and installation all happen in one shop. If your timeline is tight, tell us up front — we’ll tell you honestly whether we can hit it.
