Santa Ynez Estate — Whole-Home Custom Cabinetry & Carved Millwork

A whole-home cabinetry project in Santa Ynez, California wine country, spanning furniture-grade bathroom vanities, painted built-ins, stained display cabinetry, and hand-carved architectural details. Every piece was designed and built by Foundry Cabinet Co. to suit the home’s traditional, Old-World character.

Project Overview

This estate called for cabinetry that reads as furniture rather than boxes: glazed and painted finishes, stained hardwood display pieces, stone-topped vanities with custom mirror frames, and carved ornament throughout. The scope covered multiple bathrooms, hallway built-ins, a display cabinet for glassware and collectibles, and closet and pantry storage — all built to one consistent design language.

Hand-Carved Details

The signature element of this project is its carved ornament — including large sculpted oak-leaf motifs shaped in hardwood. Work like this blends CNC precision with hand carving and finishing: machines establish the form, then hand tools bring out the depth, veining, and character that make each piece one of a kind.

Built-Ins & Storage

Painted built-in storage — closet systems, pantry cabinetry, and hallway pieces with open display shelving — rounds out the project. Inset doors, applied moulding, and traditional hardware keep the storage consistent with the home’s architecture instead of looking added-on.
